I grew up in Fujian province, the greenest part of southeast coastal China,
and became a big city girl at Renmin University in Beijing. I moved on to sunny San Diego and got my doctorate at that branch of the University of California in 2008. Last year, as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard's Fairbank Center, I worked on "Webs of Power: Three Governors and the Networking of Political Resources, 1900-1915." Currently, as a rookie in Fordham University and New York City, I am learning to embrace the thrills and travails of first year teaching.
I enjoy good food, cooking, and running, not necessarily in that order.
