On June 29 2006 I attended Professor Phelim Boyle's 65th birthday and retirement party. It was a two-day conference in his honor. Many his former colleagues and friends, especially students were there to celebrate his birthday and retirement. I met Professor Boyle in 1988 when he visited the University of Illinois. He encouraged me to study fixed income derivatives and till today I still keep the term paper I submitted for his class.
