Reading
focus:
a)
The key terms of religious experience and expression - such
as myth and ritual, morality, religion, religious language,
and cosmos, help us to read, understand, identify and
discuss the course texts. Using them offers us a basic or
'agreed' language to begin discussing the rich texts of our
course.
b)
Myths, as myths of nature, harmony, liberation, and history
were once and continue to be utilized in numerous cultures.
Learning about them potentially increases our perspective to
'see' our sacred text stories. We will be focusing on
types of myth and their relevance.
c)
For class, you can either print the article or take good
notes from it.

Tip: Give priority to the sections through page 24. The
section from page 25-34 is helpful too, but it will likely
feel more relevant as the course progresses. (Skim-read
25-34 for class, re-read it in 4-6 weeks.)
