I am Series Editor of the English language edition of the memoirs of Academician Boris Chertok, who worked under the legendary Chief Designer of the Soviet space program, Sergey Korolev. Chertok's memoirs combine a wealth of information on the entire history of the Soviet missile and space programs with an insight on the human dimensions of the effort. The original Russian language editions were published between 1994 and 1999 by Mashinostroyeniye publishers in Moscow.

The series has the general title Rockets and People.



So far, two volumes have been published:

Vol. 1 (2005) is roughly about the years 1912-1947
Vol. 2: Creating a Rocket Industry (2006) is roughly about the years 1947-1960

Later volumes will cover the halcyon days of the 1960s.
